Francis hates the Tridentine Mass because it adheres to the immemorial teachings of the Church, and encourages adherence to those teachings among those who love it. He acts on the principle that Vatican II created a new Church with new teachings, and canceled the old. He is correct, although he and many others lied about the intentional break. They had to deceive, in order to disarm the opposition until they were too firmly established to be extirpated. Through his appointment of bishops and cardinals, Francis has now ensured the dominance of this false church for at least many decades to come. He’ll never allow the freedom you ask him to grant to the TLM and its adherents; to do so might open the door to change, and that is one thing he absolutely cannot permit.

So this is the choice: give in and follow Francis’ false religion, or DEMAND the restoration of the TLM. Even a father must sometimes face the justified wrath of his children if he has lied to them and abused them.

Going forward, I suggest that we and any brave priests that can be found should just continue to offer and attend the TLM. Ignore the bishop who tells us to stop. Ignore the Pope who told him to do so. Otherwise, we’ll someday be in the position of needing to explain to Our Lord why we chose to worship Him with an inferior liturgy that denies the teachings He died to give us, and that generations of faithful Catholics lived and died to pass on to us. Not an appetizing prospect, that!

It's not that simple. When priests don't obey their bishops about what form of the Mass they celebrate, the dioceses revokes their priestly faculties, and they lose their positions in parishes. I've written elsewhere about what happened to some priests after Vatican II. And as for what happens to bishops who don't agree with the Vatican, we have the example of Archbishop Strickland.
