Two of the three priests at the small SoCal parish in which I grew up were from Ireland. It's very odd to think that in the space of my lifetime, Ireland has gone from producing such an abundance of priests that they could send two to a suburban backwater in California, to having barely enough priests to serve their own flocks in the Emerald Isle.
