From a friend: I think I still have a picture of you in one of their annuals when you went to St. John's. That was after my husband drug me back from Our Lady of Peace when he started to go to church again. It was probably when Fr. Segovia was pastor. If so, the mayor at that time was Pete Mchugh and his [second] wife was Gail [former religious sister]. She was vice principal or principal of St. John's School back then.

Although I did not talk to the Mchughs much as I think I was still too busy working at public schools, Gail did help me get kneeling for the consecration back into the Mass when I was on the Liturgy Committee for a couple of years. We used Pope Benedict's The Spirit of the Liturgy" as one of the books to accomplish it.

I had left because of all the changes Fr. Charley and others had brought into the Mass, such as hand-holding during the Lord's Prayer and washing everyone's feet on Holy Thursday. I forget his last name but never did call him by his first name. I soon left the Liturgy Committee because of the constant changes. Just could not take it. Later I heard they even washed their hands on Holy Thursday, but as one priest at The Adoramus Bulletin wrote, "That smacks of Pontius Pilate." I totally agree. (Laughter.)

My motto: KEEP IT SIMPLE. Life is hard enough without complicating things and stressing yourself to death.

Now I have to get to work around the house before it falls apart.

Hope to see you Sunday,

Diane
